Join me after a brief summer break, on 29.08 at 7pm (BST) to discuss the often overlooked essay form. How to read essays. How to write them and why. Why essay-writing can make you a better fiction writer.
We’ll discuss Theodor W. Adorno’s “The Essay as Form”, for theoretical input; and Virginia Woolf’s “The Death of a Moth”, as practical counterpoint. Optional reading: David Shield’s Reality Hunger (where he discusses the concept of the “lyrical essay”, among other things.
It’d be great to see you!
F.
